 What is Reiki

Reiki is a system of healing. When most of us think about Reiki we think about palm-healing where a practitioner lays hands to bring balance at an emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual level.

What More is Involved?

As so well described by Frans and Bronwen Stiene (pron. Steener) there are five elements to the system of Reiki.

These are

Gokai ... The recitation, meditation and contemplation on the five precepts of the system.

Kokyhu-Ho .. Japanese breathing/meditation methods that assist the practitioner to increase their own energy levels. (Ki)

Tenohira ... Palm healing ... this is used for personal healing and the healing of others.

Jumon and Shirushi ... Mantras and Symbols that assist the practitioner in their own personal practice and thus in their ability to help others.

Reiju/Attunements .... Blessings and attunements that assist the student to develop their own practice and energetic development.

What is a Reiki Treatment?

During a Reiki Treatment the person receiving Reiki lies on a Reiki table and relaxes as soothing music is played. The recipient removes their shoes but remains fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner places their hands, gently, in predetermined and appropriate positions along (or above) the body

How Long Does it Take?

A complete treatment takes about forty five minutes to an hour.  A lovely lunch break!

How Much Does it Cost?

A one hour session costs $50

Who will Benefit?

Anyone can benefit from Reiki. Male and female. Young or not so young.

Is it based on a Religion?

No - Reiki is not based on any religion. Just be open to the possibilities of healing on an emotional, spiritual and physical level. Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment. It complements all forms of therapy, traditional and non-traditional.

Do You Teach People The Reiki System?

Yes we teach all three levels of Usui Reiki Ryoho using Japanese techniques.
